Slavery and You
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Many people treat their slaves terribly.
They don't show them the word of Christ and they call themselves Christians!
This is an outrage! It's very easy to get your slaves to convert to Christianity
as it is proclaimed:
Titus 2:9-10 (New International Version)
9Teach slaves to be subject to their masters
in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them,
10and not to steal from them, but to show that they
can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God
our Savior attractive.
I always go with the food method to
initiate the conversion:
Once converted, make sure your slaves
respect you with fear and sincerity of heart as we, obey Christ. Inform them if
they don't serve you fully, they not only will be whipped, but sent to Hell!
Ephesians 6:5-9 (New International Version)
Slaves and Masters
5Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect
and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.
6Obey them not only to win their favor when their
eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart.
7Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the
Lord, not men, 8because you know that the Lord will
reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.
And remember, Boy 1, isn't better than
Boy 2 just because it works harder than Boy 2. It's faith is in question.
9And masters, treat your slaves in the same
way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and
yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.
Is it okay to beat my
slaves?
Not only is it okay, but Jesus commanded
us to do it! That's right, when your slave knows what it is to do, yet doesn't
do it, you are to beat him many times!
Luke 12:47-48 (New International Version)
47"That servant who knows his master's will
and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with
many blows. 48But the one who does not know and
does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone
who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been
entrusted with much, much more will be asked.
The thing is though, that if your slave
didn't know what it was to do, and didn't do it, then you can only beat it a few
times, rather than many.
Isn't it just awesome to
be Christian and moral, simultaneously?!
