In the time line, you listed all the troubles and pit falls. But on the page going
into the kids page you said the warning was there because of a court order. That
part is not in the time line. What happened there?

This:

The U.S. Supreme Court has decided the fate of the Communications Decency Act7 (a portion of the 1996 Telecommunications Act) by overturning certain sections.8 However, the Court left intact the portions dealing with "obscene" content. Content providers should take steps to avoid providing such material to minors. One way to do this is to have a warning page where viewers must click on a statement certifying that they are over the age of 18 or 21 and will not hold the site responsible for violation of community standards.9 No court has yet decided whether this type of warning is sufficient.10 Sites that wish to avoid the risk inherent with minimal prevention can make use of the cottage industry that has sprung up to verify a user's age, such as AdultCheck and AdultVerify. Other methods include listing a site with Surfwatch or Cyber Patrol (software that filters or controls access to pornographic websites) or including warning labels. The W3C (the organization controlling HTML standards) has warnings that can be created and attached using the new Internet Content Selection.11 Another form of warning, known as PICS, can be placed in the meta commands so that it is invisible to the viewer.12

The exhibition of children engaged in sexual acts is always illegal, even if the children are computer-generated images. A reporter for National Public Radio was even arrested and charged with violating the law while researching a story about child pornography on the Internet.

1 Roth v. United States, 354 U.S. 476, 485, 77 S.Ct. 1304, 1 L.Ed.2d 1498 (1957).

2 Miller v. California, 413 U.S. 15, 24, 93 S.Ct. 2607, 37 L.Ed.2d 419 (1973), reh’g denied, 414 U.S. 881 (1973).

3 Stanley v. Georgia, 394 U.S. 557 (1969); but see New York v. Ferber, 458 U.S. 747 (1982) (allowing outright prohibition of material depicting minors engaged in sexual conduct); 18 U.S.C. § 2255(a)(4)(B) (criminalizing possession of child pornography).

4 See e.g., 18 U.S.C. § 1465 (criminalizing transmission of obscene material);but see 47 U.S.C. § 223(f)(2) (prohibiting states and localities from passing laws inconsistent with Communications Decency Act) and ALA v. Pataki, No. 97 Civ. 0222 (LAP) (S.D.N.Y. June 20, 1997) (finding that divergent requirements between jurisdictions violates Commerce Clause).

5 U.S. v. Thomas, 74 F.3d 701 (6th Cir. 1996), cert. denied 117 S.Ct. 74 (1996).

6 But see Joint Explanatory Statement of the Conference Committee, H.R. Conf. Rep. No. 458. 104th Cong., 2d Sess. 191 (1996) (indicating that Communications Decency Act was attempt to “establish a uniform national standard of content regulation”).

7 47 U.S.C. 223 et seq.

8 Reno v. ACLU, No. 96-511, 1997 U.S. LEXIS 4037 (June 26, 1997).

9 The following is an example of such language:

This Website contains images of a mature nature including full and partial nudity. If you are below the age of 18 or easily offended, then please leave.

By clicking on any link below, you are agreeing to the following:

I certify that I am of legal age in the jurisdiction from which I am accessing this page, or any pages, containing adult material. I indemnify the publisher, the service provider and the telecommunications companies from any losses, liability, costs and/or expenses incurred by them and any legal action commenced against them or any of them as a result of the viewing or the retrieving of such materials by me in the event that the material is contrary to the laws of the location from which I am accessing the material. I acknowledge all responsibility for viewing the material that follows.

10 While potentially relevant to the question of community standards (or whether material is “patently offensive”), consent alone is not likely to be a sufficient defense. See Paris Adult Theatre I v. Slaton, 413 U.S. 49, 93 S.Ct. 2628, 37 L.Ed.2d 446 (1973) (holding that movie theaters have no First Amendment right to show obscene films because “The States have the power to make a morally neutral judgment that public exhibition of obscene material... has a tendency to injure the community”).

I was brought up Christian, and I WAS NOT brought up to hate as you do.

You are defiling the name of God when you associate your sick human interperation of
the Bible with Christianity. I am appalled.

Im not going to bash you, because you obviously have no conscious and it would do no
good.

But I will let you know right now, I, as a Christian, DO NOT agree with anything you
say on your site. You are a sick individual and I will be submitting your website
for review by MANY CHURCHES in many states (predominantly bible belt states, fyi).
Be prepared to be SHUT DOWN.

Freedom of speech ends when you start infringing upon the rights of others. You have
taken it upon yourself to speak for Christians as a whole. But you are wrong in
doing so, and your ignorance spills out into this site you have created.

I hope you will find the REAL truth one day.

And just because you bought some crackerjack ministry certificate, don't think you
are a TRUE reverend of God. You may have bought an ordination somewhere online, but
you ARE not speaking of the Same God.

With patience,
Jessica

"You are defiling the name of God"

Defiled or defiling? Which is it?

"DO NOT agree with anything you say on your site."

1 + 1 = 2

"You are a sick individual and I will be submitting your website for review by MANY CHURCHES in many states (predominantly bible belt states, fyi). Be prepared to be SHUT DOWN."

Thanks for doing the favor of spreading my word for me by showing many churches my content. That's EXACTLY what I want!

"I hope you will find the REAL truth one day."

No one can know the real truth. That's why Christians use truth with a capital 'T' so they can see that their version of truth is the Truth.

"And just because you bought some crackerjack ministry certificate, don't think you
are a TRUE reverend of God."

That's like saying Kent Hovind isn't a real doctor since he bought his doctoral certificate at Patriot University. Here is a picture of the fine institution:

Hi, I've been following closely the recent events of your site, and I must say, when
I found out (about the whole sever ordeal) I was pissed.I've gone through all of
your entries, but I still return once a week or so in hope that there will be
something new or at least some e-mails from angry atheists that have there heads too
far up their asses to realize that they are fighting the wrong people, or some
angry teenage Christian e-mail you saying "love thy fucking neighbor you piece of
shit, burn in hell" which are comedy in themselves. But after thinking about it, I
think that the label of offensive is perfect for the website, and the irony of the
whole thing is worth something in itself . After all, Truechristian.com is probably
along with Godhatesfags.com the most true representation of the bible out there. I
am thoroughly fucking confused as to "Christians" think that you're just making up
all the shit on your site, I don't even know how a Christian can try to make it
seem as if Christianity is anything other than what is on your website. Your site
is a great thing, it changed my mind, and I am so glad that I realized just how
full of shit I was. I know from reading your e-mails you get a lot of (for lack of
a better word) retarded teenagers, but even though they may e-mail you saying
you're wrong the first time they see the site, they eventually may change their
minds because of you. I had e-mailed you before (on a different address which I no
longer use) saying I disagreed with you, that I was 14, and (fill in stupidity).
But you were right. Satire is the best way to make a point or change someones mind,
but only when people can understand what the true statement is. Hopefully for the
sake of humanity this can happen to everyone that reads your website. Looking at
history though, I think it's unlikely. They're more likely to get pissed off and
throw a bitch fit and try getting you off the internet, but after awhile, it will
hit even
those people (I think) .So thanks for helping myself and at least some others open
our eyes.

Signed,
a
former
Christian

"After all, Truechristian.com is probably along with Godhatesfags.com the most true representation of the bible out there."

Yes you are fully 100% correct. That's why mainstream Christians hate us so much too since we expose them for their own lies.

"I don't even know how a Christian can try to make it  seem as if Christianity is anything other than what is on your website."

It's the same reason

"Your site is a great thing, it changed my mind, and I am so glad that I realized just how
full of shit I was."

Well I'm glad I helped you see reality. That's the true purpose of this website. Be happy you were smart enough to figure things out since most people aren't.

"I know from reading your e-mails you get a lot of (for lack of
a better word) retarded teenagers, but even though they may e-mail you saying
you're wrong the first time they see the site, they eventually may change their
minds because of you."

This website overall de-converts more mainstream Christians towards atheism that any other on the internet I know of.

"I had e-mailed you before (on a different address which I no
longer use) saying I disagreed with you, that I was 14, and (fill in stupidity)."

You were never stupid since you figured things out. I was the same as you for a long time until I figured things out by simply reading the Bible start to finish. I thought I was the only person who had these feelings in the world but when I got on the Internet that all changed.

Pastors and preachers only read selected verses and nothing else; consequently, the pastors and preachers who have read the Bible actually are only in it for the power and money. The the best way to realize the truth about Christianity is to read the Bible front to end. I know most people don't have the will to do this so this site paints out the Bible, and highlights all the points the pastors don't want you to know about.

"They're more likely to get pissed off and throw a bitch fit and try getting you off the internet, but after awhile, it will hit even  those people (I think) ."

Some people are just either so stupid or stubborn that they wouldn't dare listen to the person who makes them look bad.

Ok I just read everything on your site and heres what I think.
1. Your either a 12 year old kid whogets fucked in the ass by his dad and
brothers or your an old guy that still gets fucked in the ass by his
brothers and is angry and lashing out.

2. A long time ago (thousands of years) some very inteligent people came up
of an ide of how to control people, via religion and it went like this A:
write a book says its all from god/faget.
Tell everyone if they don't follow this gods rules they'll all goto hell.
Now back then and still a lot of people now are stupid enough to believe
this. Kinda like you, ya MORON (hence correct spelling of moron)

3. Do me and a lot of people a favor and post your actual home address,
city, state.
That way I can come to your house and use a special torture tool that I came
up for you while reading your trash I call it the Razor-blade anal bead
whip!!!
This is how it works: 1 i take 3 feet of razor wire and stuff it up your ass
then i quickly rip it out and beat you with it and then when im done i pray
that all your wounds fester with E.Coli from your own body.

BTW EVERY MOTHER FUCKER OUT THERE BEATS OFF/MASTURBATES/FLOGS THE BISHOP if
ya say ya don't then your a fuckin liar and guess what liars go to hell in
the bible.

Hey heres something else for you to hate on: I am a PAGAN I worship the

I am a devout Christian and I am soon going to school to become a Youth Pastor. I
had a question though. In your FAQ, under the cult question you said "Yes,
Christianity is a cult since it is a religion."
Now agree or don't agree with me but wouldn't you say that Christianity is infact
not a religion but a lifestyle? By definition, Christianity is a religion but
wouldn't you agree that most Chrisitans live with Christianity being their life and
basing their decisions according to their morals set by God and the Bible?

Thanks for your time,

Firstly, I'd like to say, this is not hate mail, I don't hate anyone who
follows any religion. I'm not religious myself and wasn't at all offended by
anything on your website, because in my opinion people who make such comments
are small minded, very small minded indeed. Everyone is entitled to a life,
and everyone can live their life how they want to, the bible is merely about
perception, you might read it one way, someone else another. I think perhaps
you should reconsider the way you think and feel about certain things - not
everyone is the same, that might mean some people have different skin colours,
different religions, perhaps they have different sexual preferences, or
different morals but that doesn't make it ok to kill or want to kill someone.
Would you go against one of the ten commandments in order to follow a "rule"
with less importance? Would you kill your son if he was homosexual, would you
enslave a man because his skin was darker than yours?

Surely science is not for idiots if it can save your son's life? If it can
save your wife's?

It's perfectly ok for you to publicise your views and opinions, so it is
then ok for me to write this email, I have taken the time to read your opinions,
I hope you have mine. I'm just trying to get through to the small minded of
this world, I do hope you took the time to read this email if nothing but out
of common courtesy, it doesn't bother me if you don't even give it a second
thought I just think for someone who CLAIMS to be a Christian, you're not
very Christian like. If you don't like something or someone, you can always
ignore them, you do not need to KILL them, or encourage others that murder is
the action that must be taken against them, let people live how they want to,
teach people, don't preach to them.

What's your point?

Hey Jim,

Why anyone would want to shut you down is ridiculous. You're more fun
than Landover Baptist. If that happened, then where would people get
their weekly Christian themed humor and truth?

John

P.S. Here's an idea: Have an e-mail newsletter club, which people could
subscribe to and get the latest from America's Number One True
Christian, Jim Nicholls!!! Praise God!!! That would get you even more
exposure and popularity and maybe humble Landover Baptist for a change.
What a bunch of egotistical maniacs!! All the more reason to praise God!!

I barely have the time to even answer these e-mails. That's to much work for me.

I love this website. I especially love reading the scathing emails that hordes
of foolish Christians send you. I always believed that atheists, in general,
were smarter than Christians. Your hatemail section just proves it. I
particularly find the emails in which the Christians repeatedly curse you to
eternal damnation in hell the most hysterical. What hypocrites! The entire
religion is flawed and most of the people who follow it have a mental
deficiency from either stupidity or fear. They cling to their "faith" like a
drowning man clings to anything that floats, and try to spread their fear like
the plague. You can just smell their desperation through the computer screen.
I also enjoy the fact that the Christians who have the most problems with
this site also have the worst grammar and spelling errors. It is really
disheartening to know that there are so many moronic (or would it be
moranic?) people in this world of ours.
This site mirrors the crazy Fundies like no other I have ever seen. It's
fabulous! Now days, you can't just tell people they are crazy, you have to
slap them in the face and show them that they are. You have done a wonderful
job of showing the world just how ridiculous Christianity, nay any religion,
is.
Keep up the good work! This site makes me smile like no other. That, and it
disturbs me to the core just how absolutely gullible people can be.

You rock! Please post this email, I will love you for it.

P.S. To any crazy Christians that would like to email me back, my email
address is real. I don't check it very often, but feel free to flame it as
much as you would like. I get a kick out of your stupidity.

Thank you very much!!

Sir,
I have been looking at your site for a while now. I am a Christian, a lover,
believer, disciple and follower of Christ. However, I can't help but have quite a
few grievances with your site. Could you please tell me how we can justify the
hatred shown on your website? Christ hung out with the "sinners," and He is the
God of the Universe, so why should we think that we are too good for the "unholy"?
Also, we are just as sinful as ANY other person on this earth, the difference is
that we are no longer enemies of God. We must always remember that we were enemies
of God and are saved through grace and grace alone. While God has ever right and
ability to judge those who are not His children, we do not. Also, the Old
Testemant is for the purpose of showing us the law. The law that we must fulfill
to be holy before God. All of us have fallen short, the old testemant (the law)
shows us that; it shows that the punishment for all sin is death, not a physical
death, but God's wrath
poured out on us. I am praying that you, the world, and I have God's will and
wisdom shown to us in this matter.

I found your website yesterday, and I couldn't stop reading it! It was
so funny and true! Your research and citations are good, and I like
how you bring out the worst in the Bible. I myself am an Atheist and
really like your way of showing how false the bible is, and furthermore
how much people today fail to follow it.

I have routine religious discussions on a Facebook group, and one guy
said "What Would Jesus Bomb?", insisting that Jesus would never do such
atrocities. I countered by saying "What DID Jesus Bomb?" Sodamn and
Gamorra, THE WHOLE WOLRD, Egyptians, etc etc. People are so ignorant
these days about what is actually in the bible vs. what they think
sounds good/hope for, and what pastors and the crazy guys on TV yell
about so that they can get more "tithing" (profit).

I loved your site, I stayed up 3 hours to read all I could, and sent it
to all my Atheist friends. Your E-mails are the funniest because
people actually beleive you are a true christian. Your website is so
obviously sarcastic and rediculous, even compared to religion today. I
don't know how an Atheist would actually take your site seriously and
be offended.

Keep it up man! I hope Christianity eventually dies out as people such
as yourself educate everyone on how rediculous it is.

Mr. Nicholls,
I am just wondering if fully understand what you are trying to
say. You use "true" in capitalization; this, I assume, means directly
from God, Who's name is also capitalized (even Who's). What I gather
from your site, you are all about exposing God as a vengeful merciless
being as put forth from the Bible in the words of the Christians that
where there. Is this in an attempt to discredit and expose the "false"
Christians or to show that only a fool would believe that God is love
or that the Christian God can't even exists? Its obvious your site is a
parody of the Christian's faith and I am just wondering what the point
is beside changing their minds about the type of God he is.

The point is to show what Christianity is instead of what it isn't.

I'm now going to take the time to rip some of your 'theories' to shreds...

RE: Atheists

1. That god is often spelt with a capital G proves nothing. Buddha (in English) is
spelt with a capital B, is he the true god/God? Allah is spelt (in English) with a
capital A. Is Allah the true god/God? I think you see where I'm going with this.

The beliefs in many of those, supposed, 2,500 other "gods" have existed for many
thousands of years BEFORE CHRIST. How then, could they have been created to detract
from Christian belief?

2. Atheists are not all the same. Hey, maybe not all atheists are socially conscious
but everyone's different. Maybe a person is an atheist because they don't want to be
categorized or judged by their beliefs. Atheism shouldn't be viewed as a religious
or anti-religion, it's a point of view. You can't prove there's a God, atheists
believe there is no god, that's their choice, it doesn't affect you, so relax.

3. Your reality is laughable. It's things like this that make me think you're
kidding. I do think that perhaps you have a mental problem or were abused at some
point in your life. I am not joking.

Um, you have 2 '3.' points there. Talk about LOW IQ!

3. Reality: YOU live a highly sinful life and people like you fill state prisons.
It's no wonder that 100% of our prisons our full of people like you. You claim to be
a good Christian but you are trying to act good to draw people to your religion. You
will not try to enter organizations to help the needy but you would be rightfully
turned down anyway because you are hateful and a filthy bigot. When you started your
organization good people came along and dismembered, and destroy their ideologies
and opinions. You force your black and white opinions on others in an attempted to
instill hatred demanding that they confess their allegiance to Satan. What kind of
sick moron says these naive and hateful things?

How do you feel about what I just said? I simply took what you said and aimed it at
you. If you feel that what I've said could not be further from the true, that's how
I feel about the original text and context.

4. Well, you spelt 'too wrong'. Hello, Mr. IQ, oh, leaving so soon?

N***** LOVERS, hmmm? Wow, you?re SUCH a charmer. Why, how can I become a good
Christian like you Mr. People Hater?

Now, WHERE IN THE BIBLE DOES IT SAY THAT HATRED TOWARDS PEOPLE OF ANY SKIN COLOUR OR
RACE IS ACCEPTABLE???

5. I'm getting a bit tired of correcting your grammatical and spelling errors. I'm
beginning to think that either I child wrote some of these things, or that you're
just a very angry person. You prove you're an idiot by your spelling mistakes. I
have used some capital letters today. Does that mean I'm right? Or am I mocking
Christianity? That's laughable. Logic and reason are your enemies, and I see that,
because IGNORANCE what YOU capitalize on.

As for you taking the State Constitution as GOSPEL, well, isn't that ironic. Perhaps
you do take the Bible literally but you criticise people who take the parts they
agree with and disregard the rest. You do the same with the Constitution. Do you
think the Constitution is Christian? You can't just take the bits you believe in.

Is There a Rise in the Amounts of Atheists?

Atheism is not the religion of hating God. They do not believe in god/God.

The rest of what you said about Atheists is foolish.

JB

Dear Pastor Jim,

I knew what you were going to say before you said it and I was not shocked one bit.
You've been openly hating every other denominational group (or non-denominational in
the case of Atheists) but you seem like the type of person to prey on the weak. And
here we are. You must know, deep down, that your own ways are evil because you don't
seem to want to bother with people who have strong beliefs differing with your own.
You cast taunts and ridiculous accusations but don't try to bring them around. You
are only instilling more hatred in people who are already on your 'side'. Clearly,
the only group you feel you can influence is Agnostic because they (seemingly) have
no strong opinions either way. I think you are getting a little confused. Agnostics
aren't necessarily on the verge of becoming Christians, it could be they're not sure
which religion they want to be or maybe they don't want to be in any particular
religion. Maybe they're interested in some aspects or Hindu, or Judaism but don't
yet know enough about it or are happy to let things be. You are a propagandist and
dare I say it, a NAZI.

You may disagree with that, you may call it something else, but if you have all the
same beliefs, you are a NAZI.

Are you getting Scientists mixed up with Scientologists?

"Spiritual people live longer than non-spiritual people"- unproven. Besides,
spiritual isn't necessarily Christian. I feel that Buddhism is much more spiritual,
and in a positive way, than Christianity.

"Spiritual people are happier and more stress-free than non-spiritual people" - This
is a broad statement. Spiritual does not mean 'religious'. One can still be
spiritual and be an atheist or unreligious.

"To prevent divorce you must both be Christians"- RIDICULOUS. Unless, of course,
there is some moronic law in, say, Alabama, which prohibits D-I-V-O-R-C-E in the
case of a Christian couple.

"Christians are the only completely moral people on Earth" - Sounds like you're
trying to start a Christian jihad.

"It is a war between Good and Evil" - You like Bush?

"Good and Evil exist" Sure they do. Oh, you mean in a religious context with
CHRISTIAN = GOOD and EVERYONE ELSE (EXCEPT MAYBE AGNOSTICS) = EVIL? You're dreaming.

"The Bible is a credible source" - Of what?

"Anyone who isn't with us is with the terrorists" Which terrorists? Christian
terrorists? Hang on, a minute!

"SUVs make the environment cleaner" - uh, WHAT? What does this have to do with the
Bible or Christianity? Are you just being funny? You really do like Bush, don't you?

"AIDS is a tool used against Fags to eliminate them" -You're a tool. You are so
uncaring, it's sickening. This statement makes me sad.

"Faith healing works" - bullshit. This makes me ANGRY. I have a friend who was
paralyzed when he was 18 and he's now a paraplegic in his 30s. He was on a camping
trip a few years ago and there was a Christian family camping in the tent beside
him. Moments before they left, the mother of the Christian family left a note on
Mick's car. He didn't have a chance to speak to the family about the letter because
they left swiftly, perhaps afraid of the repercussions. The letter was from all the
family stating that they believe that he has the power to walk, if he will only
believe and have the faith to walk. They implied that he was being lazy and told him
that he should leave his wife because she was a negative influence on him.

Mick has faith that if he sees that woman again he will be able to heal himself and
fly-kick her in the face. He has been with his wife since they were teenagers and
they are the most caring people in the world. What an AWFUL woman that so-called
Christian was to suggest he is just lazy. Mick works, he doesn't claim benefits. He
plays sport. Life would be so much easier, of course, if he could walk. But shit,
BAD shit, happens. He's doing great. He's getting on with life, man.

"Christian Science is based off evidence while Science is not" - Science is science
is science. What the heck is Christian Science? What 'evidence'? If I write
something down in capital letters, does that make it true?

JB

same beliefs, you are a NAZI."

Dear ‘Pastor’ Nicholls,

I hadn’t visited your site in some time, and I was pleasantly surprised by your
new material. The “Kidz” section is simply brilliant; the Jezebel sketch is
exceptional.

(Somewhat) Briefly, I wanted to relay a personal story I hope you’ll find
interesting:

Approximately one year ago, two clergymen were given the entire op/ed page of
the local paper to debate whether or not homosexuality was proscribed by the
Bible. On one side, a Southern Baptist minister argued that gays and lesbians
were specifically condemned by scripture, and on the other, an Episcopal bishop
claimed that if Jesus had nothing to say about homosexuality, the church must
also be silent.
Truth be told, the bishop’s argument was fairly convoluted and mealy-mouthed, and
from the perspective of persuasiveness, (by which I mean referencing what the Bible
actually says), the Southern Baptist pastor took our Episcopalian friend down to
Chinatown. According to the pastor, “the Bible is not a buffet; we cannot simply
pick and choose which parts of it we wish to believe.”

Taking the pastor’s bait, I wrote a letter to the editor which was ultimately
presented as an op/ed of its own. Tongue planted firmly in cheek, I argued that
the position of Southern Baptists everywhere was absolutely correct. Therefore,
we must immediately begin stoning everyone from breakers of the Sabbath to those
who eat shellfish, each capital offense explicitly followed by its corresponding
biblical precedent. For good measure, I ended my letter by stating that I’d be
waiting outside of the local Red Lobster to administer justice to anyone guilty
of breaking god’s holy writ.
Following my column, a torrent of letters poured into the editor. Amusingly, many
resembled the hate mail you receive, albeit cleaned up for language. Actually, the
funniest were from people who were suddenly afraid of patronizing seafood
establishments. However, what was most astonishing to me was the number of letters
claiming either: 1) that the Bible did not in fact say the things specifically
written within it; 2) the Bible did say the things I had described, but said
proscriptions only applied to Jews, or; 3) the Bible did say the things I had
described, but that Jesus had done away with Old Testament law by dying on the
cross. In fact, this third argument was most ham-handedly advanced by the Southern
Baptist pastor who had participated in the original debate.

The paper allowed me to retort to the letter writers, and I did so my including
both verse AND text in my rebuttal. Additionally, I pointed out to the pastor,
as well as everyone else, that passages such as Matthew 5 clearly stated that
the Law was the Law.
A couple of crackpots wrote in after my rebuttal, but that was about it. Over the
next few months, a number of True Believer acquaintances informed me that their
church had spent one or, in several cases, a few Sundays discussing my Epistle to
the Heathen. Oh, and I got a few of those Chick (sp?) tracts in the mail from a
number of the Fundy churches.

Net-net, I’m not sure I did any good; a good friend of mine told me I was an
asshole for insisting people actually follow the edicts of the religion they
claim to believe in (for the record, I’m not sure it wasn’t his wife, who is
religious, who is also a good friend, speaking through his irreligious, atheist
mouth). However, I know a few people who actually bothered to think about what
it is they believe, and who actually are on the straight and narrow path away to
Deism/Agnosticism/Atheism/Non-Abrahamic-religionism. I hope your website is
doing a better job of deconverting the fundamentalists better than I have.
Admittedly, my efforts looks like amateur hour compared to the html wizardry
you’ve conjured, but we do what we can. Thank you very much for the site – it
always makes me smile, and I’m always happy to send my friends over to max out
your bandwidth.

Regards,
Justin Bynum

Wow wonderful e-mail! I actually read the entire thing too! Thank you very much and yes I'm trying to do what you are. I'm so happy there are others in the world who understand the reality of religion and how to PROPERLY deal with it. There is only one way that works and this website is the prime example of that.

Dear "Pastor Jim,"

My name is Jeremy, and I am sixteen years of age. For quite some time I visited
your website regularly, and sent a message praising you and the site. However,
being busy, I had forgotten about it for a while. Fortunately I remembered the
site today and decided to stop by.

When I read your You Can't Shut Us Up page, I was surprised to discover the amount
of self-censorship on the part your previous ISPs that has occured. I am not
completely shocked, however, as I am familiar with the censorship and disregard
for the First Amendment that goes on in America. In fact, I'm currently writing a
paper for school* entitled On the Federal Communications Commission's Infringement
Upon Civil Liberties by Speech Restriction of the Public Airwaves. The paper deals
with not only the FCC, but Congress' compliance with and advocation of the FCC's
restrictions, particularly a satute passed by Congress which prohibits networks
from airing "profane" and "indecent"** material from airing between 6 a.m. to 10
p.m.

However, after reading about the trouble with censorship you've experienced, I
will most likely expand the paper to deal with not only profanity, indecency, and
the FCC, but to internet censorship and censorship of unpopular language and
ideologies in America, as well. By "censorship" I not only mean explicit
government restriction, but implicit intimidation tactics used by those with
significant roles in government.

Please know that I fully support your website and your intention of exposing the
literal Christian Bible. It serves not only as religious and political satire, but
as as shining example of Freedom of Speech at its best. If the website is closed
down for any unjustifiable reason, I will be willing to participate in a petition
for its return. Please do not be discouraged or discontinue your efforts. Cotinue
your poignant satire, your sarcastic e-mail responses, and your unique, albeit
controversial, humorous style.

  Your fan,

  Jeremy D.

P.S. I am very interested in which, if any, political party you are affiliated
with. I would appreciate a response from you, not your Pastor Jim character, if
you wouldn't mind answering. I myself am essetnially Libertarian, although I do
not adamantly pledge myself to any political party or political creed.

  Thanks.

*I am actually independently-educated (my pompous alternative term to
"homeschooled"), so I do not have to submit the paper to any sort of authority
figure of a public education institution which favors conformity, equates
patriotism with loyalty to the government, and generally frowns upon freethought
of any kind. I find myself fortunate in this regard.

**(See http://www.fcc.gov/eb/oip/FAQ.html#TheLaw for the "official" definitions of
"indecent" and "profane.")

Good e-mail and thank you!

Subject:   Just a few questions
From:   "Elliot Walker" <elliotwalker0@hotmail.co.uk>
Date:   Fri, December 15, 2006 1:49 am

Hello, from your fellow atheist

In thinking this is hate mail, or even a complaining email, you are
incorrect. I just have a few questions:

First of all, I'm curious as to why you use smart allec replies to emails,
such as "try spellcheck" when you, yourself often mispell words, repeat the
same word twice, and consistently use the word "like" in the most
inapproriate places. Why do you do that?

Secondly, I would like to know who or what, other than the bible, enforced
your beliefs posted on your site? I personally do not believe a word of it,
but, as there is this thing you repeatedly mention, freedom of speech, I am
allowed to say this. And, lets be realistic, the majority of people in this
world do not have your view, therefore todays society would generally
consider your view to be "twisted". So, going by that, how can you, yourself
not see that your views are so obscure and vastly different to those of
almost everyone elses, that they are not even slightly preposterous?

And finally, I would like to know if you know what logic is. You use the
term logic often, but you never actually use logic itself. Logic is about
reasoning, and sense. Logic is not about a simple, single-sentenced answer
with nothing else.

Thats all I would like to be answered, thankyou. However, I part with this
comment: Your pages on the internet are pressumabley to entice people into
christianity, yet (and you should know this judging by the repsonce you get)
they do the opposite. Your view of the religion sounds harsh, cruel and
unforgiving. In today society people do not want that life, but I suppose if
you do, it would be generally nicer for you to do it in silence.

Thanks.

Oh, and P.S. If there are any typos or spelling mistakes in this, then I'm
sure it doesn't judge my intellect, not that I'm claiming any significant
status of intelligence, so pointing them out would be petty. And if you do
choose to reply (it would be appreciated) then it would show the level of
your intellect if you could do it as a whole reply, rather than the little,
broken down sections, posted on your site. The way you have replied there is
the easy way out, as it ignores the body of the text.

"you, yourself often mispell words"

Misspell you mean?

So, you base your life around the bible because "it's the word of God".
However, how do you know that the bible is really his word? It is not the
word of God that you are believing here, it is what the bible says is the
word of God.

Your logic on the earth not being a sphere is that we don't know it to be
fact because we haven't seen it. Well did you see or hear God writing the
bible? No! Were you around when he made it? No. You base your life on pieces
of paper you only believe to be real. I know that they aren't because they
contradict with my life, along with a lot of other poeple's. You says that
atheists hate their lives? I don't hate mine! Therefore YOU'RE WRONG :D
hahahahahahahaaaaaaa
