      As I write this letter I am crying. I'm crying for you, and any of your
followers who believe as you do! I know my Lord God in Heaven has also cried

I have another question about the Bible.

In the Old Testament, people sacrificed animals to God. I think they did 
this by burning the animals along with a lot of ceremony and prayers. Is 
this related to the modern tradition of barbeque? I lived in the southern 
United States for a while (South Carolina), and sacrificing animals by 
burning them was a proud tradition, and oftentimes I would hear people speak 
of Jesus or God after eating the burned animals. Comments such as “Jesus, 
this is good barbeque,” or “God, this is excellent barbeque,” or “Holy shit, 
this is fantastic barbeque” were commonplace.

Do you think these two traditions are related?

Everyone acts like their life is being ruined by christians Like christians
come into their house and force them to read genesis at gun point. But the
fact is most atheists will never deal with any kind of discrimination unless
they are actively looking for it and will be incredibly intolerant of other
views even if they purport to be open minded. Most atheists I know are
incredibly self righteous too they are convinced and think it is their job
to go spread the truth, violently if necessary anything to get those
unbelievers to convert. They are just as bad as the worst self righteous
christians This is completely aside from the fact that most of them only
understand the most basic concepts of evolution. You could fit everything
they know and all their insight on science into a 30 minute show on the
discovery channel with commercials. They understand even less about the
christians or any other religions. But this apparently is enough to qualify
them to criticize anyone who disagrees. This is not to say religion doesn't
have its excesses too, there are examples of christians persecuting people
for their beliefs but not in recent history. Atheist see themselves as being
above this and don't recognize the possibility that someday advocating
anything but evolution might be heresy. They may even already support making
anything but evolution heresy. Religion has managed to fight its own
excesses and become moderate and tolerant of other beliefs in this country.
I would speculate that a greater percentage of atheists are intolerant of
other beliefs then compared to christians I'm not advocating one belief over
another I haven't said that there is any proof of god or that people
shouldn't believe in evolution I'm stating an obvious fact that atheists
believe they have a monopoly on the truth and believe that their belief is
fundamentally better then any other. In history what has often happened when
alot of people have this attitude about other people? You have to realize
even if evolution is a fact that belief can be taken too far if you don't
realize that then you are no better then the people you so vehemently
oppose. You may accuse christians of all sorts of things but no christian
alive was part of the Salem witch trials or the Spanish inquisition and no
one alive today was ever harmed by those things.

hello.  My name is Kyle.  I have been a christian my entire life, but i 
recently have had doubts.  I hate to say it this easter sunday but i just 
cant see how dinosaurs and men lived together.  And as for carbon dating, 
why would anyone try to lie to us about something like that? theres no 
motive.  I beleive in the bible but i also beleive in basic laws of physics 
and science.  i honestly and truly believe that in some of the stories in 
the bible, the writer assumed what god wanted him to write.  For example, 
when Noah said that the first rainbow shone through after the global 
flood(which i beleive in the flood, there is actual evidence) that just 
cannot be possibly true.  a rainbow is a prism of light emitted from a drop 
of water.  And its not scientists lying to us, i have done an experiment 
myself with it. i have seen the prism of light myself from the water.  If 
that was the first rainbow, then a law of physics is broken.  Life would not 
have of existed without the light and water.  Thats all a rainbow is 
essentailly: light and water.  i believe in god and that jesus died on the 
cross to save my sins but i just cannot turn a blind eye to how some of the 
stories just do not make sense.  And as for the earth being flat, Pastor Jim 
sir, that is not possible.  What about the space missions to the moon, is 
that a lie too? it cannot be.  The earth is a domed shaped hunk of mass that 
god created.  and what about the other planets, and the sun, and the stars? 
they simply cannot be how you say they are. the other planets just simply 
not exist.  They do.  you can see them with telescope.  i dont know anymore.

I'm very curious about the TrueChristian.com website.  After being a little 
dismayed about the current state of our country (war, terrorism, corporate 
closures, jobs headed overseas, unemployment, etc., etc.) and where its 
future is headed, it occurred to some of us that this is stemming from the 
trend of many mixing their religious beliefs with their political voting 
choices.  One can naturally conclude that much of our Christian population 
is headed toward Puritanism and away from true Christianity.  (Jesus had no 
part in forcing his beliefs, but only to teach with the hopes of making a 
difference).  This has nothing to do with your website, other than I felt 
compelled do a little research and also conduct a Google search for "true 
christian."  Naturally, I came across your site.

YOUR WEBSITE:  It speaks of taking the Bible's teachings literally. On the 
other hand, it is loaded with a tone of intolerance and impatience, which 
completely contradicts the way Jesus presented himself and wanted others to 
live.  He stood for tolerance, kindness, love and respect of our fellow man, 
doing our best to live a pure life, and forgiveness, among many other 
things.  Beyond reading the words and taking them literally, we need a 
comprehensive understanding of the teachings.

CHRISTIANITY:  Whether anyone wants to disbelieve Jesus was the son of God 
or not is their choice, and those who don't should not impose their beliefs 
or dismiss ours.  Whether they can see him or not, or whether there is proof 
that he exists is irrelevant.  Man has a natural desire to figure things 
out.  The very basic question is: "Where did all of this (we) come from?"  
When our forefathers were presented with and were fortunate enough to come 
to know Jesus, his mere existance, in addition to his teachings, provided 
many answers to those natural curiosities.

PROOF "HE" EXISTS:  They call it "faith" for a reason.

DINOSAURS:  They did exist, and there is scientific proof; although, for 
some, it may take study to understand why.

Now, I have questions for you, Pastor Jim:

1)  What is your purpose?  Is it to teach Christianity?  By all accounts on 
your website, it seems that was at least the original concept.

Before I share my questions, I want you to know that they are sincere, 
despite that they may be interpreted in another way.  What I have gleened 
from the website is that: (a) others have pointed out your own grammatical 
errors which are permanently affixed in certain areas of the site; (b) once 
your readers have pointed out those grammatical errors, you have chosen a 
line of defense, rather than understanding and/or taking corrective 
measures; and (c) your website has a Biblically-related, Christian 
foundation, but now seems to have, perhaps unwittingly, gone through a 
metamorphisis of sorts.  Iinstead, it now appears to be little more than a 
blog or an arena to very lightly debate the very authenticism or legitimacy 
of Christianity, therefore, spinning its proverbial wheels.  This brings the 
next question:

2)  Where do you intend to go from here in terms of changing or improving 
the site, if at all?  Or,...

3)  Have I misunderstood completely and it is just as some have said, a

       I would like to start by saying that i think your website is a
horrible parody that makes no sense at all, but I am not writing to you to
insult you (no matter how much I would enjoy it); I am writing to you
about an article about the world being flat.  Now I painfully read your
entire article and found your evidence to be inconclusive, random, and
downright aggravating.  None of your quotes taken directly from the bible
support your "theory" except for MAYBE one.

born, the famous Greek scientist Eratosthenes, not only did he prove that
the earth was round, but he was able to estimate the circumference of the
earth (USING PI) to within 1000 Km.  
       
       Eratosthenes knew that on the summer solstice at local noon in the
town of Syene on the Tropic of Cancer, the Sun would appear at the zenith,
directly overhead.

       He also knew, from measurement, that in his hometown of Alexandria,
the angle of elevation of the Sun would be 7° south of the zenith at the
same time. Assuming that Alexandria was due north of Syene he concluded
that the distance from Alexandria to Syene must be 7/360 of the total
circumference of the Earth. The distance between the cities was known from
caravan travellings to be about 5000 stadia: approximately 800 km. He
established a final value of 700 stadia per degree, which implies a
circumference of 252,000 stadia. The exact size of the stadion he used is
no longer known (the common Attic stadion was about 185 m), but it is
generally believed that Eratosthenes' value corresponds to 39,690 km.

      Although his method was correct, some of his assumptions and
measurements were not. Syene is not exactly on the Tropic of Cancer but
rather slightly north of it, and is not directly south of Alexandria; nor
is the Sun at infinite distance. (Eratosthenes knew the latter, but we are
not told he corrected for it.) More seriously, angles in antiquity could
be measured only to degrees or quarter-degrees, and measurement of
overland distances was worse. The circumference of the Earth around the
poles is now measured at around 40,008 km.

       Now if you were not able to understand any of that, I feel you have
