1)                  Kenya has a population of 30 million.  The first HIV/AIDS case was reported in 1984.  Since then, 1.5 million Kenyans have died due to the disease.  Right now, 2.5 million people are infected (HIV positive).  Every single day the disease is claiming 700 lives!  65% of hospital beds are occupied by people suffering from HIV/AIDS related infections.  Kenya has approximately 3 million children orphaned by the disease.



2)                  Groups under specially difficult circumstances::



We have two groups that have felt the punch of the disease:-



i)      Orphan children:-       Most children are total orphans meaning they have no father nor mother.  They are different ages, some as young as 1 year old.  They try tooth and nail to fend for their daily survival, which hardly come their way.  Due to the pressure of fending for themselves, some have run from homes and found refuge in new homes in the streets of major cities and towns where later, they lead reckless life, sniffing gum, drug and engage in other immoral activities.



(a)   Their major needs:- food, clothing, shelter and educational sponsorship; medical care.



ii)      Widows:      In Kenya, most bread winners are male.  Female in most cases are associated with upbringing of children at home.  This has impacted negatively as the death of the male, who is the only bread winner is a complete doom to the family livelihood.  It is very common here that male persons normally succumb faster to HIV/AIDS as compared to their female spouses.  As a result, we have many desperate and helpless widows under tight grip of pulsating poverty.  Since their husbands were the sole bread winners, after the demise of their husbands, they have nobody to turn to but face life however cruel it is.  They have children to support, feed, educate and clothe.  How do they do this?  Also because most of them are HIV positive, they need constant medication to treat opportunist infections for them to keep going.



Their major needs:-



i)        Revolving Fund to start income generating businesses.

ii)      Community medical clinic to cater for their medical needs i.e. where they can get free drugs, counseling and other related services.

iii)     Shelter: some are living in grass thatched houses with mud walls that are seriously leaking when it rains.



The part River of Life Ministries has played toward alleviating the suffering:-



(i)         We have been able to start home based orphan care programme within this community.  Here we identify the orphan, after that we take him to a foster parent who is willing to stay with him or her.  So whenever the Lord blesses our ministry with some funds, we buy food, clothing and blankets and we take to him there where he stays.  So far, we have been able to donate food, clothes and blankets to a number, though this has been very limited due to lack of funds and donors.  We have been able to get sponsor for 4 orphans who pays for them school fees and has build them a good house



           We have also been able to put up new structures for poor widows whose houses had collapsed down.  We have shown them love by donating them blankets and clothes and at times, we give them some food in small  quantity.



It is our prayer that the Lord will bring forth partners in Ministry that together we can

Dear Mr. Pastor (man who has completely twisted Jesus' message)
   Two of Jesus' main teaching points were love and forgiveness.  Jesus'
last dying words on the cross were "forgive them lord, they not not what
they do." keyword there Jim, FORGIVENESS!!!! on your site, on top of the
picture of the holocaust, it says its revenge time jews. did jeus teach
revenge? no forgiveness. your website is a mass of contradictions. for this
you will go to hell.
   Furthermore, my grandfather, a jew named Jim, was a navigator on the
thunbderbird, an american airplane, in WWII.  he flew 29 missions defending
these united states and earned his way into the national air space museum.  
He risked his life, so that hillbellies like you could live your lives.  You
shouldl be thankful to the jews for saving your sorry ass.
   If Jesus saw you now, he would be so ashamed of your hipocrisy.  How can
you be a true christian if you dont live by Jesus' message of love and
forgiveness.  He would be ashamed that you are using his teachings, twisting
them, and then using him against Jesus's people.  Jesus' was a Jew. And no,
the Jews didnt kill him, the romans and a few jewish radicals did, brush up

Pastor Jim,
   I was deeply shocked and saddened when I came upon your site in search
of a review for the Passion of Christ. I found the site to be full of
contradictions and statements that directly go against the spirit and
teachings of Jesus Christ. Instead of just telling you of your
misinterpretations, I will show you.

1. You say that people need to take every word of the Bible literally, and
you quote the Bible incessantly to prove your points. Jesus' views were
completely different. Unlike the Scribes and Pharisees, who (like you)
devoted themselves to the letter of the law, Jesus preached the spirit. For
example, he defied the Bible by working on the Sabbath. Conversely, you say
that those who ignore the Bible go to hell, so in effect, you are stating
that your own Lord is a hell-bound sinner.

2. Your comparison between an SUV and the Bible is ridiculous, absurd, and
simply inaccurate. In fact, when I glanced over your having written that an
SUV is fuel-efficient, I laughed, thinking the website to be a parody. In
truth, SUVs are gas-guzzlers and the primary cause of environmental
destruction in the world today. Furthermore, the extent of an SUV's
inefficiency has led us into a war because we lack the fuel that is held by
Middle-Eastern countries such as Iraq.

3. Your claim that George Bush is a great President is also misinformed. In
case you are wondering, the debacle of a war that we are currently in has
yielded 500 American deaths and not one weapon of mass destruction.

4. You declare that the Bible spreads the peaceful word of God. Meanwhile,
you say that pacifists are sinners.

5. Finally, your hatred towards Jews is sickening. JESUS WAS A JEW. HIS
MOTHER WAS A JEW. HIS DISCIPLES WERE JEWS. BY SUPPORTING THE HOLACAUST YOU
SUPPORT THE CRUXIFICTION OF JESUS.

Please take the time to respond to this e-mail, for I am curious as to your

I am christian and have been baptized. I firmly belive that Christ is the only king.  But I've never witnessed anyone who voiced their opinion so close to mine.  I have browsed your website and it really strikes a chord in me.  I have some personal questions I would like to ask.  My uncle made me and his son sleep naked together when we were children and even when we were in our early teens.  I haven't spoke of this to other family members for the past few years but I wanted to  because I'm was sure that he is molesting my cousin.  But just recently my uncle and cousin started attending my family church two rivers baptist.  He has actually apologized to me in private and is getting baptized at percy priest in three weeks.  Is it possible that he has turned his life over to christ or is just trying to hide what he was?
